Principles of Intellectual Property and Copyright

The principle of intellectual property focuses on protecting human creativity and innovations, which include trademarks, inventions, copyrights, publishing rights, models, concepts, databases, designs, drawings, and more. Intellectual property and copyright in the e-learning environment are legal rights that protect the works of authors and creators from being reproduced or exploited by others without their consent.

At Al-Motaweroon Al-Mithali Center for Health Training and Education, the following are key principles of intellectual property rights:

  • The center is committed to respecting intellectual property and copyright for all content published on the training platform.
  • Trainers and those in similar roles are committed to respecting intellectual property rights when developing content.
  • If open-source content is used, the source must be clearly cited.
  • The organization is responsible for reviewing all course materials, programs, and trainees’ work to ensure they are free from intellectual property violations.

The center’s policy regarding published content includes the following:

  • It is prohibited to publish any content that defames individuals or organizations or portrays them negatively.
  • It is prohibited to use, publish, or quote copyrighted content without permission or authorization.
  • It is prohibited to publish any content that contradicts religious or ethical teachings.
  • It is prohibited to publish any content that affects national unity (such as racism, sectarianism, tribalism, etc.).

Trainers at Al-Motaweroon Al-Mithali Center for Health Education and Training acknowledge that all content uploaded to the training platform—whether recorded courses or surveys—must respect intellectual property rights and copyright principles. The trainer also acknowledges that all courses uploaded to the platform become under the control of the center, allowing it to use them for developmental or training purposes.

These principles apply to all beneficiaries of the services of Al-Motaweroon Al-Mithali Center for Health Education and Training. The center is committed to ensuring their implementation, and all employees are bound by them. Any violation of these principles will subject the offender to disciplinary action according to the procedures of the center, in alignment with the regulations of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
